Counterparty waiting risk is where USDT "works" and still hurts you.
On Plasma network, stablecoin-first gas is important because the chain is supposed to settle, not send you hunting for a second token mid-payment. The failure is not a revert... it is actually that stretch where the transfer exists, but you ca not treat it as settled. Treasury won't book. Ops won't close. The counterparty starts sending the same two lines: "confirm receipt” / “please resend”.
That "we're short the fee token" excuse does not survive in payments.
You do not lose money in that minute.
You lose the limit on the next one.
