If a critical bug were discovered, the response would not rely on improvisation. WAL’s design anticipates the possibility of emergency action, even if it is rarely needed.
The most likely path would involve pausing or limiting affected functionality, followed by a governance-approved upgrade or patch to the Move modules. Because WAL lives on Sui, upgrades can be executed in a controlled, auditable way rather than through informal social coordination alone.
What matters to me here is that contingency planning exists without overusing it. Emergency powers are meaningful only if they are restrained. The goal is to preserve user trust while fixing the issue transparently, not to normalize intervention.
