Two undercover Gastonia police officers will not face charges after fatally shooting Derrick Manigault on Jan. 10 inside Jakobs Food Mart in North Carolina.

Surveillance footage captured Manigault arguing with a customer while brandishing what appeared to be a firearm, shouting "You trying to lose your life tonight?" An officer opened fire to protect himself and bystanders. Manigault fled the store still holding the weapon in a raised position.

The gun was later confirmed to be a replica. Authorities have cleared both officers of wrongdoing.
