According to Cointelegraph: The Central African Republic (CAR) has expanded its Sango blockchain project to include the tokenization of land and natural resources. On July 24, the CAR National Assembly passed a law allowing for the tokenization of these assets, which also enables the online acquisition of business visas and simplifies the process for citizens and foreigners to establish businesses and obtain licensing in various sectors. The law was reportedly approved unanimously.

The CAR had previously announced its intentions to tokenize natural resources in 2022, following the launch of Project Sango. The project also proposed the creation of a Crypto Island Metaverse. Despite facing numerous challenges, including the repeal of its Bitcoin adoption as a national currency and the rejection of the Sango-linked citizenship program by the Constitutional Court, the CAR continues to pursue its goal of becoming a leader in crypto adoption. The country is also considering the introduction of other cryptocurrencies. The International Monetary Fund estimates the CAR's GDP growth at 2.2% for this year.
