🚨🚨 Hacker on HTX Returned Stolen Money to Exchange
Huobi's renamed worldwide exchange, HTX, suffered an assault in late September that cost them close to $8 million.
From the hot wallet of the exchange, the hacker made off with 4,997 ETH, which is worth around $7.9 million. At the time, HTX CEO Justin Sun advised them to return the money in exchange for a 5% white hat bounty within a week because the attacker's identity had already been discovered. Sun agreed to refrain from pursuing legal action in exchange.
In addition to paying the hacker a 250 ETH white hat bonus, we have verified that the hacker has fully refunded all monies as promised. The hacker made the appropriate decision. We want to thank everyone in the business for their assistance.
