Microsoft is forming a new team to develop an energy strategy based on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and microreactor energy for its artificial intelligence (AI) plans. The tech giant is seeking a principal program manager with at least six years of experience in the nuclear industry, engineering, or energy market to lead its nuclear technology efforts. Complex AI models, like deep learning, consume significant amounts of energy due to complex computations and large data volumes. Using nuclear power as a renewable energy source for data centers could help reduce AI models' energy consumption.
