🇺🇸 More than 8 million New Yorkers are set to get inflation relief checks beginning in late September. The state's tax office announced the payments will go out automatically to residents who lived in New York for all of 2023 and filed a tax return.

Those who only lived in the state part of the year or were claimed as dependents will not qualify. Individuals earning $75,000 or less can get up to $200, while married couples and surviving spouses making up to $150,000 can receive $400.

Checks will be mailed over several weeks through November.
