Not long after, we heard about a hospital planning to introduce a new management system. Even though we had no experience in the healthcare field, we still decided to give it a shot—just like investing early in Bitcoin ($BTC ) before it became popular.
The hospital’s director loved to drink. At dinner, he brought out two bottles of Maotai. My foreign colleague and I weren’t used to strong baijiu, but we knew this was part of building business relationships. It felt like a high-risk move—similar to holding BTC during a volatile market. That night, we experienced the true pressure of negotiation, just like watching the crypto market swing up and down.
After a couple of hours, all serious discussions disappeared like a sudden crypto crash. I somehow managed to pay the bill, and we stumbled out to catch a taxi. As soon as we got onto the elevated inner ring road, nausea hit us hard. We rolled down the windows and threw up into the night, leaving our “mark” across Shanghai—just like traders leaving their mark in the Bitcoin (is$BTC ) market.
