Crypto is once again a circus, and the main clown, as always, is the red-headed woodpecker from Mar-a-Lago and his close-knit family.The "red-headed woodpecker" $WLFI sucked up the DeFi pool and sent the money to Coinbase Prime.
World Liberty Financial (WLFI)—a project where Trump is officially listed as "Chief Crypto Advocate," and his sons Eric, Donald Jr., and even Barron are actively managing the process and just pulled off a classic scheme. On April 9–10, 2026, the WLFI treasury deposited approximately 5 billion of its WLFI governance tokens into the Dolomite DeFi protocol and, using this "collateral," borrowed approximately $75 million in real stablecoins (mainly USD1 and USDC). Of this money, more than $40 million almost instantly flew to Coinbase Prime—the place where serious people quietly convert crypto into real money.007aa0
Beautiful, right? Especially considering that Dolomite isn't a random protocol. One of its co-founders is an advisor to WLFI. A family business through and through.

How it looks on-chain (Arkham and Etherscan data)
Deposit: ~5 billion $WLFI (the nominal value of the collateral at the time was approximately $440–484 million).
Borrow: ~$75.7 million in stablecoins.
Outflow: More than $40 million flowed to Coinbase Prime within a few hours.
WLFI currently accounts for over 55% of all liquidity on Dolomite. $USD1 pool utilization reached 93-100%, regular users encountered withdrawal issues, and deposit yields soared to 35%+ (for those who made it).
The project, of course, dismissed all the criticism as FUD and claimed to be an "anchor borrower" who supposedly generates yield for everyone else. They claim that even if WLFI collapses, they'll simply add more collateral and no one will be liquidated. They're 100% confident, as well as confident that their token has "real" value.
And now about the main character?
As a reminder, this is the very same project where the Trump family receives 75% of token sales, holds billions of WLFI on its balance sheet, and has already made a good profit (according to various estimates, $1 billion and up over the past year and a half). The red-haired troublemaker promises to make America "Crypto Capital of the Planet," while his cronies use their own token like a magic wand: print it → pawn it as collateral → take real stablecoins → take it to an institutional off-ramp.
A classic example: retail depositors provide liquidity, and the "anchor borrower" (the issuer itself) calmly converts it into cash. If the WLFI price drops significantly—it's already fallen 10-14% on the news and is currently trading around $0.085-0.09, with a market cap of ~$2.55-$2.7 billion: the risks of cascading liquidations and bad debt will fall primarily on the pool.
Ultimately, this isn't an "innovative treasury strategy." It's a good old vicious cycle, where the collateral is a thinly liquid token, the borrower is the project itself, linked to the most high-profile "so-called politician" (read: fraudster) in the world, and real dollars flow away to where they can be easily cashed out.
WLFI is already conducting buybacks worth $65+ million and is preparing governance proposals. But the question remains: did regular liquidity providers realize that on the other side of their deposit is not an anonymous trader, but an entity closely tied to the red-headed woodpecker and his family business?
