Ledger, a leading crypto hardware wallet producer, has announced a 12% reduction in its workforce in response to ongoing challenges in the crypto industry. CEO Pascal Gauthier cites "macroeconomic headwinds" as a primary factor impacting the company's ability to generate consistent revenue. The decision is part of a larger trend in the crypto landscape, where numerous firms are compelled to cut costs and downsize.

The struggles faced by Ledger reflect broader issues within the crypto industry, such as escalating interest rates, stringent regulatory measures, declining trading volumes, reduced funding, and diminishing value in sectors like NFTs. Despite these challenges, Ledger has shown resilience and adaptability, securing €100 million ($109 million) in funding earlier this year, valuing the company at €1.3 billion.
