The Winklevoss twins just filed an S-1 for a spot Zcash ETF. Ticker: WINK, on Nasdaq, 0.25% fee. $ZEC is trading above $1,376.

On paper it's a clean pitch: direct ZEC holdings, no futures, and a fee reportedly about a tenth of Grayscale's existing Zcash fund. Bitwise has filed too, so WINK would be at least the third issuer chasing this market.

Now read who sits where in the filing:
- Sponsor: Winklevoss Asset Services.
- Custodian: Gemini Trust Company, the Winklevoss exchange.
- "Zcash Ecosystem Partner": Cypherpunk Technologies, Winklevoss-backed, which already owns about 1.76% of ZEC supply and plans to raise that to 5%.
- Seed demand: Winklevoss Capital signaled non-binding interest in buying up to $100M of shares.

That's one family on four sides of the same product. The adviser on protocol matters is also a large holder of the asset, and is still accumulating. If the ETF brings inflows, the biggest early beneficiary may be the people who designed it.

The fair counterpoint: insiders putting their own capital in is alignment, not just conflict, and a 0.25% fee is genuinely good for buyers. A privacy coin getting a regulated wrapper is also a real milestone.

Is WINK a conviction bet, or a well-structured exit ramp?
