The first read looked bearish

Hyperliquid reported roughly $1.48B in net bridge outflows over 7 days while open interest hit a new $18B ATH

that sounds like leverage is growing while capital is leaving

but the cross-check tells a very different story

Hyperliquid Bridge TVL actually increased from roughly $6.54B to $7.50B over the same period

that’s almost $1B more collateral, not less

spot orderbook liquidity also grew, OI remains at record highs and the 7-day average fee/revenue is still above the 30-day average

so I don’t think the clean conclusion is “capital is leaving Hyperliquid.”

the more likely issue is that the bridge-flow metric and the collateral reserve metric are measuring different things

and that distinction matters

for $HYPE I’m reading this as cautiously positive, not a bearish capital-flight signal

but I’m not chasing it after a ~20% weekly move

what I’d watch next is whether bridge collateral keeps growing while OI stays elevated

If collateral starts falling while OI keeps expanding, that would be the risk signal I care about
