Swedish entrepreneur Carl Pei plans to carve out Nothing Technologies Ltd.'s budget smartphone and electronics unit into a standalone company that will be majority Indian-owned, according to Bloomberg.

The move is based on Pei's view that India is poised to become the next global consumer technology hub.
