🚀Hey BTC enthusiasts! Yield Protocol, a major DeFi player, has announced it's winding down operations, marking the end of an era. 😢 The March 2024 fixed-rate series won't be launched, and all borrowing and lending activities will cease by December 31, 2023.
🔍Yield Protocol cites low demand for fixed-rate borrowing and a complex regulatory environment as reasons for the decision. In a statement, the team said, "While we think that the future is bright for DeFi and fixed rate markets in DeFi, we felt this decision was necessary because there is currently no sustainable demand for fixed-rate borrowing on Yield Protocol."
⚠️Borrowing and lending activities are now restricted to the December 2023 series, and liquidity providers for the March-September (MS) strategies will no longer incur additional fees. On December 29, 2023, all remaining series will mature, marking the end of all borrowing and lending operations on the platform.
🤝Yield Protocol is committed to supporting its users throughout the remaining period, with support for withdrawals available for a limited time after the December series concludes. Stay tuned for updates via their Twitter account @yield and Discord channel!
