@WalletConnect has been active on the ground turning connectivity into real payments. At Solana Summit they demoed WalletConnect Pay with SafePal so users could pay from any wallet in seconds.

They also launched with Ezeebit in South Africa at The Capital, letting customers pay in USDC, USDT, ETH or BNB in-store or online while merchants settle in stablecoins or fiat.

• Day-one support for Circle’s Arc L1 (mainnet Sept 16). One integration connects 700+ wallets, 80,000 dApps, and 55.5M users. WalletConnect Pay on Arc uses USDC with sanctions and IP screening built in.

• Certified Season 3 launched (Sept 14). Core requirement: native WalletConnect Pay. Newly certified: SafePal, TokenPocket, DCENT, My Wallet, Bridge by Mt Pelerin, IronWallet, and CoolWallet.

• USDG processed $206M on the Network in H1 2026 (mostly on Solana).

The team ran a busy booth at Coinfest Asia in Bali showcasing WalletConnect Pay and exclusive merch, then wrapped the event with thanks to the community and announced the next stop in Singapore this October.

New Payments Pulse episodes featured Optimism’s COO on owning payment rails and 60-second settlement, plus BitGo insights on stablecoin transparency and adoption. Weekly stablecoin volume hit another $6.2B.

WalletConnect Recent Updates:

WalletConnect is boosting real-world adoption with a 100% cashback promotion in WCT for all WalletConnect Pay purchases at 94° Coffee in Lisbon from July 22–29. This ties into the Onchain Lisbon Week meetup on July 25, offering free crypto-paid coffee and community networking.

Following MiCA’s full implementation in the EU, WalletConnect Pay provides compliant tools for stablecoin and crypto payments, simplifying licensing, AML, and Travel Rule requirements for merchants and businesses.

WalletConnect’s P4 governance proposal has been approved by $WCT stakers. The upgrade improves staking rewards with a new power-law APY formula that adapts to participation. Short-term staking becomes more attractive (4-week from 0.78% → 5%), while long-term positions still earn more (104-week → 24.52%). RewardWeight is now separated for rewards, and StakeWeight remains for voting. Now moving to development and rollout. Stay tuned for the new APYs. @WalletConnect

@WalletConnect has integrated PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin via WalletConnect Pay, enabling seamless crypto payments across 750+ wallets with one simple integration.

in a new interview, PayPal’s Head of Crypto Smitha Purohit called the collaboration “a match made in heaven.” It allows self-custody users to pay merchants globally with PYUSD instantly, without bridging.
