Every reward system quietly teaches users what a protocol actually values.
If rewards mainly follow trading, liquidity, or long-term participation, people naturally optimize for those actions.
If rewards are available through simple onboarding tasks, people optimize for accessibility instead.
That's why I've been thinking about GRVT's current approach.
On one side, the platform is building an ecosystem where active participation matters. Trading activity, liquidity contribution, open interest, and consistent usage all become signals that determine who earns more over time.
That feels aligned with the idea of rewarding economic contribution rather than just showing up.
But then there's another path that lowers the barrier almost completely.
Complete a few missions, no capital required, no trading required, and you're still able to receive tokens at TGE.
The interesting part isn't whether one model is right and the other is wrong.
It's whether they are rewarding two completely different things.
One rewards contribution.
The other rewards discovery.

$177B in total volume last year. TVL peaked around $98M. For an on-chain perps DEX, that is not farming noise. That is real traders putting real money through the system.
So they can clearly attract volume. That's solved.
The question I can't shake is different: where does all that fee revenue go after TGE?
Most derivatives platforms look great during the points era. Volume is high, everyone is motivated. Then incentives stop, yield chasers leave, and the token has no reason to hold because it was never actually connected to the exchange's success.
If GRVT's token is just a governance sticker with no buyback, no fee share, no real sink - it won't matter how big that $177B number was.
If they actually built a way to route revenue back to holders, then the whole conversation about "what is 1 point worth on listing day" is short-sighted.
