Nasdaq index closed at 27244, and it also set a new closing record.
On the same day, Amazon fell 1.34%, Google fell 1.07%, Microsoft fell 0.72%, and Meta also pulled back. What truly lifted the index was storage—Micron rose 5%, and the Philadelphia semiconductor index rose 2.06%.
I don’t think this is a broad-based risk-on cycle being turned on. It looks like money is being pushed into specific segments such as compute power and storage. A new index high doesn’t mean the “Magnificent Seven” are all flying together.
On the crypto side, I’m not going to chase this rhythm either. On Binance, ETH’s current price is about 2732; over the past 24 hours it’s only down around 0.6%, and it didn’t catch the same structured move as in U.S. equities. I’m planning to stay out with cash first and watch tonight’s U.S. market open to see whether storage can keep the momentum, and then decide whether to touch risk assets.
