The U.S. crypto regulatory push is running into serious political resistance.

The CLARITY Act already failed to advance in the Senate after a 49 to 50 procedural vote, with Democrats raising concerns around ethics provisions and President Trump’s crypto interests.

Now the House is taking up a separate package of crypto tax proposals, with disagreements over how much preferential treatment digital assets should receive.

This is becoming bigger than just one bill.

The U.S. has spent years positioning itself as a potential crypto hub, but legislative uncertainty is becoming part of the story too.

Personally, I think the interesting question is no longer just “Is the U.S. pro crypto?”

It’s whether the political system can actually turn that ambition into clear, durable rules.
