DeFi veterans are many, but projects that truly still satisfy “there are real needs, they can generate income, the token has value capture, and there is growth potential in the future” are not as many as people imagine.
I based on the fundamentals over the next 6–12 months and compiled a ranking of DeFi ecosystem tokens.
Why did I put AAVE separately in the “knock-in” tier?
It doesn’t mean it will definitely rise in the short term. Based on overall protocol demand, sector position, cycle validation, and product extensibility, AAVE is still the DeFi core asset with relatively complete logic right now.
UNI, LINK, SKY, PENDLE are in the “top tier”—they correspond to DEX, oracle infrastructure, stablecoin ecosystems, and yield trading. The projects themselves all have moats, but protocol success doesn’t necessarily translate into token price increases; value capture still needs to be assessed separately.
ONDO, LDO, ENA, CRV belong to the “high above the rest” tier: their sector position and market attention are strong, but they also face controversy regarding regulation, mechanisms, governance, or token value capture.
As for NPC and the high-risk watchlist area, it doesn’t mean the projects must go to zero. Their main issues are more about the decay of older narratives, intensifying competition, or the token currently not having formed a sufficiently clear value-capture loop. If the fundamentals reverse, they may still come back to the table.
If you could only move one project up a tier and move one project down a tier, who would you choose?
Personal observations only—not investment advice. Rankings do not represent short-term price movement predictions; please do your own research and manage risk.
