Ripple is recommending that the $XRP Ledger community withdraw the long-running XChainBridge, or XLS-38, amendment. The proposal was originally designed to support native cross-chain bridging across XRPL networks. Ripple says the main bridge use case is now better served by Axelar, which supports 50+ blockchains and more than 75 validators. The company also says developer demand for XLS-38 remains limited, while removing it could cut over 10,000 lines of code. The decision is not final.
