BNB Chain has announced the Pasteur hard fork, scheduled for August 25, 2026 at 02:30 UTC.
The upgrade focuses on security + scalability, introducing:
🔹 BEP-682 — stronger bridge verification
🔹 BEP-695 — safer validator key retirement
🔹 BEP-675 — higher block capacity and throughput
Testnet benchmarks show throughput improving from 1,237 → 2,324 TPS.
Pasteur is also part of BNB Chain’s broader H2 2026 roadmap, targeting another major increase in mainnet throughput and a long-term path toward 10× network scalability.
