Took a few hours off yesterday to play golf. Came back to our community tearing itself apart.
Frustrating as hell, but maybe that's the point.
Found a @doginaldogs sticker on my office door—my daughter put it there. Got it at Futurist last year when I finally met @barkmeta, @GodsBurnt, and the rest of the Dogs IRL. Had it sitting around for a year. Somehow it shows up now, right when everything's chaotic.
Been getting DMs from DD community members lately. Real, powerful messages. Not fluff. Not moonboy shit.
That's community.
Not a green candle pumping your bags.
Not everyone nodding along.
Not people vanishing when things get messy.
It's the ones who stick around when there's literally nothing in it for them.
Maybe that sticker showing up was the reminder I needed.
Gonna start hitting more DD Spaces, see what's actually being built. Can't afford a Dog yet (and I'm picky about which one), but you'll see me around more.
Yesterday didn't make me want to quit. It reminded me what kind of community is worth building.
