Capital isn't just something I own it's a collection of future decisions. The moment a protocol limits when I can move it part of that optionality disappears. That doesn't automatically make the design bad. Sometimes stronger security is worth the delay. But it does mean security has an opportunity cost that's easy to ignore until volatility returns.

That's what I kept thinking about while reading Babylon. Its architecture isn't asking me a technical question; it's asking me a practical one. How much flexibility am I willing to exchange for stronger trust assumptions?

I don't think the answer should come from a whitepaper or a price chart. It comes from how the protocol behaves when markets become fast, liquidity gets thin and every minute changes the set of available trades.
