Trump says he is unhappy with Iran’s latest peace proposal and warns Tehran could be “crushed” if no deal is reached. Speaking at the White House, he said Iran is demanding things the US “cannot accept,” though he gave no details.

Trump claimed some progress has been made in talks but said deep disagreements remain within Iran’s leadership. He added he is unsure whether a final agreement is possible.

When asked about military action, Trump avoided giving a direct answer, saying the US has two options: “make a deal or completely destroy the country.” However, he also said he does not want another major war and sees military action only as a possible option.

Trump also argued that congressional approval for continuing the war is “totally unconstitutional” and described the ceasefire as a “major victory.”

Earlier, Iranian state media reported that Tehran sent a new draft proposal to mediator Pakistan on Thursday evening.

The conflict began on February 28 after major surprise attacks by the US and Israel on Iran. A ceasefire took effect on April 8, but only one direct round of talks has been held so far, ending without an agreement.

Meanwhile, Iran continues its blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting global supplies of oil, gas, and fertilizer. In response, the US has imposed counter-blockades on Iranian ports.
