@Fogo Official has raised roughly $13.5 million through a combination of seed financing and a community-focused token round. What stands out isn’t just the amount, but the ownership structure behind it.
Unlike most Layer 1 networks where early venture capital dominates the cap table, Fogo’s distribution leans unusually heavily toward its community. The Echo community round alone controls a larger share of token supply than the seed investors.
This shifts the early economic center of gravity. Instead of concentrating influence primarily in institutional hands, a meaningful portion of ownership sits with aligned users and participants. In theory, that creates stronger incentive alignment between network growth and token holders.
But it also raises an important execution question: community-heavy ownership works best when there is sustained ecosystem activity to justify long-term holding. Otherwise, early participants may still behave like short-term liquidity.
The structure itself is different. The outcome will depend entirely on whether Fogo can convert that ownership into real, durable usage.
