Security Incident Update
Earlier today, Binance reported a security incident involving unauthorized withdrawal transactions after an attacker may have gained access through a compromised employee laptop. Binance says there is no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked.
The estimated impact is about $6.3 billion, and blockchain partners have already frozen around $3 billion of affected assets on-chain. Binance has stated that all user losses will be covered through the SAFU fund and company funds.
