Q1: If I mint a Sneaker during the Alpha Test, will it be soul bound?

A: No. All minted Sneakers can be traded freely.

Q2: Will multi-accounting be discouraged in STEPN GO? (e.g., one person filling their Haus with their own alternate accounts)

A: We don’t discourage multi-accounting; we simply won’t know if the Guest and the Host are the same person or different people. However, if people move with multi-accounts or devices, the SMAC will find them and punish them.

Q3: Will you be offering bug bounties during the Alpha test?

A: We will seriously consider this option.

Q4: What will be the phone/OS/system requirements for STEPN GO?

A: At the moment, I don’t think STEPN GO has high requirements, but once we enable the 3D Avatar and Interactive Map features, the system requirements will increase.

Q5: The Whitepaper says “Users can turn themselves visible on the Interactive Map.” Wouldn’t that result in privacy issues? What about the potential for stalking?

A: No, because people are by default invisible, and anyone wanting to be visible needs to actively turn on this option.

Plus, we will offer different settings such as delayed display of your location, inaccurate display of your location, etc.

Q1: Does qualifying for the Alpha GO role on Discord make us Alpha testers?

A: No. It is the Early Bird role, the OG title of STEPN GO Discord.

Q2: Will collaborations with STEPN continue?

A: Yes, but for the next 6 months at least, the focus will be on STEPN GO. You should find collaborations in different forms in STEPN in the near future, though.

Q3: Will those who participate in the Alpha Testing receive exclusive Badges or other exclusive rewards?

A: Not at the moment. I mentioned the perk of being an Alpha Tester in my previous answer: Alpha Testers will be the only group of people who can start their Haus once Beta testing is open.

One thing worth mentioning is that during the Alpha Draw, there are different types of stickers you can collect, and you can complete three different sets of varying quality.

Q4: How many Genesis Sneakers will there be in STEPN GO?

A: The total number of Genesis Sneakers for both STEPN and STEPN GO is 20,000. The maximum number of STEPN GO Genesis Sneakers will be 20,000 minus the already existing STEPN Genesis Sneakers.

Approximately 8,000 Genesis Sneakers are still available.

Q5: Does STEPN GO have Rainbow Sneakers?

A: No. GMT earning will be enabled once there is enough GMT in the Schadenfreude Pool.

The GMT earning in STEPN GO is similar to the Rainbow system in STEPN; it is a PvP type based on your Karma value and daily Energy consumption, rather than the duration of your running session.

Q1: Why the GMT 4-year lock in the Alpha Draw?

A: We aim to lower the cost of the Draw as much as possible, so we used the staking method with a low rate per ticket. This approach allows anyone to participate. However, when the cost is so low, some compromises are necessary to prevent foreseeable exploitation, such as massive borrowing of GMT from the exchange. Therefore, we decided the locking period must be very long.

We will unlock all users' Alpha Draw GMT at the next BTC halving, a time when there is typically significant market attention on the space.

Q2: Is there a guaranteed prize for the Alpha Draw?

A: No. After designing the Alpha Draw, we felt we should give additional chances, so we added the Extra Rounds. For each ticket participating in the Alpha Draw, the user will also receive one Extra Round ticket. The Extra Rounds will have 10 winners instead of one, compared to the Alpha Draw.

We also designed some stickers that people can find after scratching their cards, which are currently useless. 👀

Q3: Do you plan to do a reset after the Alpha test before the beta opening, like in Gas Hero?

A: The purpose of the Alpha test is to find bugs and test if the tokenomics and game mechanisms are robust. The real benefit for Alpha testers is that they are the only ones who can set up their Haus after the Beta opening. Therefore, anyone who joins afterward must go through these few thousand seed users' Haus.

So, even if there is a reset, these seed users will still have some advantages. Currently, we don’t know if we will do a reset or not.

Q4: How is STEPN GO different from STEPN?

A: To put it simply, STEPN GO significantly reduces the barrier of entry from Web2 to Web3. This allows us to onboard these new users to other FSL products easily with the FSL ID (STEPN, MOOAR, ans Gas Hero), enabling the entire ecosystem to benefit from the user growth.

There are three things STEPN GO can do that STEPN cannot:

Log in and create a Web3 wallet without the need to write down seed phrases.
Use GGT/GMT as gas.
A Haus System that allows Sneaker lending, so new users don’t need to buy one.

Q5: How do you think the new rental system will impact the gaming ecosystem?

A: Since the Energy Cap is limited by the number of Sneakers burned, users might not be able to reach 30/30 Energy as easily as in STEPN. The best way for them is to start a Haus and lend 5 Sneakers to 5 Guests.

This way, the Energy consumption from the Guests does not come from the Host’s Energy Cap, allowing the Host to start accumulating Mint Quota much faster and mint more Sneakers to supply the market.

This additional supply of Sneakers will help the ecosystem scale quickly, and these Guests will eventually be able to start their own Haus, creating additional demand for Sneakers.

The Haus System, therefore, creates both additional supply and demand for the Sneakers. Since STEPN GO no longer requires any Web3 knowledge, we expect the demand to be much larger and last much longer.

Q1: Why was STEPN GO necessary? Will STEPN be abandoned?

A: STEPN is not being abandoned. There is a strategic roadmap addressing sustainability, user experience, and technical challenges. Developing STEPN GO as a separate app was necessary due to the impracticality of altering STEPN’s infrastructure.

STEPN GO allows for distinct but complementary experiences, focusing on social features and Web2 onboarding, attracting new users while retaining the existing base. This dual approach ensures a vibrant ecosystem, balancing innovation with stability, and creating a sustainable, engaging platform.

Q2: Can we use STEPN and STEPN GO simultaneously?

A: There are no restrictions from using both simultaneously. STEPN, stable for the past two years, is ideal for serious outdoor exercise and longer sessions.
STEPN GO requires burning Sneakers to increase Energy cap and is better for shorter, social sessions. STEPN GO targets Web2 users and social aspects, while STEPN serves its established Web3 community. Both products offer distinct experiences and cater to different user bases, ensuring a smooth transition between the two.

Q3: Is there a starter guide for new STEPN GO users?

A: Yes, we have a lightpaper with animations and will provide a comprehensive handbook and onboarding videos to help new users get started.

Q4: Will STEPN and STEPN GO be integrated?

A: Existing STEPN users can onboard to STEPN GO at a very low cost. However, selling assets on STEPN may disqualify you. Accumulating enough Energy and Sneakers will take time, so buying Sneakers on the marketplace won’t be immediate.
This onboarding process benefits STEPN users by providing a smooth transition to STEPN GO.

Q5: Will STEPN GO use the same GPS tracking system as STEPN?

A: Yes, STEPN GO will use the same GPS and SMAC system to ensure accurate tracking and data integrity.

Q6: What role does the GGT token play in STEPN GO?

A: GGT is widely used in STEPN Go, making it more accessible for Web2 users. It has more use cases than GST in STEPN, and its demand will be managed to prevent overproduction.

Q7: Can users design their own 3D Avatars and Outfits in STEPN GO?

A: Users can customise their Avatars but cannot design their Outfits. Outfits are designed by STEPN or in collaboration with other IPs.

Q8: Will STEPN GO support smartwatches?

A: Yes, we’re working on integrating smartwatches to allow users to use STEPN GO both indoors and outdoors, ensuring flexibility and mass adoption.

Q9: Will the Haus system be available in Alpha Testing?

A: No, the Haus system will be available in Beta testing. Alpha is a closed test without invites, while Beta will allow user onboarding.

Q10: Do Guests need their own FSL ID?

A: Yes, each user, including Guests, needs an independent FSL ID for STEPN GO.

Q11: Can STEPN GO users with Sneakers be Guests in another Haus?

A: No, users must start from another’s Haus unless they are Alpha Draw winners who can set up their Haus initially.

Q12: How will STEPN GO address traders who don’t walk?

A: We’ll implement strategies to give users an advantage over traders, such as minting rules etc.

Q13: Are STEPN and STEPN GO Sneakers interchangeable?

A: No, they have different attributes and designs, making interchangeability difficult.

Q14: Can users participate in designing their own Sneakers?

A: Yes, but only in the mid-stage of STEPN GO. Early stages focus on brand collaborations.

Q15: Why a four-year lock period for GMT?

A: To ensure long-term engagement and compliance. FSL aims to onboard millions into Web3 and create a unified ecosystem.

Q16: How will STEPN GO prevent non-walkers from profiting?

A: Using refined SMAC system to ban botting behavior and ensure fair play.

Q17: What are Trial Sneakers?

A: Trial Sneakers, given away in events or collaborations, earn FSL points but not GGT. They are designed to help new users understand STEPN GO.

Q18: Why is there such a significant difference between Common and Uncommon Sneakers in terms of Sockets, Attributes, and Mystery Boxes?

A: We want initial Web2 users to have a simple experience without being overwhelmed by earning. Common Sneakers don’t earn Mystery Boxes to prevent distraction. Users who want more features need to get Uncommon Sneakers, encouraging gradual learning. This approach helps users focus on starting their own Haus and ensures a smooth product experience.

Q19: How did you come up with the new Sneakers leveling system? Is there a plan for an Outfit levelling system too? How about Legendary sneakers?

A: We responded to users’ complaints about the level limit of 30 and separated Sneaker Qualities in STEPN GO. Users can now enhance Sneakers from lower to higher levels, previously unavailable. Obtaining Legendary Sneakers requires Minting, which takes time and has a low chance of success. New Sneaker Quality tiers will be introduced gradually, considering user growth and design implementation to ensure balance.

Outfits use a crafting system instead of leveling. There are two types of crafting: free crafting, which doesn’t cost GGT but results in a single outfit, and premium crafting, which requires burning GGT and offers a chance to obtain higher-quality items.

Q20: Can GGT be used for real-world purchases?

A: Future plans aim to enable this, but it’s still in development and involves significant work.

Q21: Will STEPN release Legendary Sneakers?

A: We haven’t forgotten about STEPN Legendary Sneakers, but we aim to design something distinct from Common to Epic Sneakers. This is in our pipeline, and once we address issues in STEPN GO, we’ll focus on independent updates for STEPN.
It will take a few months before we can announce a release date.

Q22: Will STEPN players access the Schadenfreude Pool?

A: The STEPN Schadenfreude Pool, funded by recovered hack assets, was distributed to active users last year.
The STEPN Schadenfreude Pool, sourced differently, is currently empty. Players will be able to earn from it once it reaches a significant amount.

Q23: Will the decentralised marketplace be transparent, showing all sales, mints, and burns on the blockchain? Also, will we need to transfer GMT/GGT between wallets as in STEPN?

A: Yes, the decentralised marketplace in STEPN GO will ensure transparency, allowing users to see all sales, mints, and burns on the blockchain.
Users can stake their Sneakers in their wallets and use them directly. We will still use spending and wallet accounts for ease of understanding, both of which are on the blockchain, ensuring security.

Q24: Can STEPN GO have bigger fonts for elderly users?

A: Yes, we will consider larger fonts to enhance usability for all users.

Q25: Will STEPN GO control the supply of Sneakers?

A: Yes, through a minting quota managed by the Haus system.

Q26: What’s the marketing plan for STEPN GO?

A: Focused on organic growth through word-of-mouth rather than paid promotions, ensuring genuine user engagement.

Q27: Will there be badges for STEPN GO users in STEPN?

A: Not currently, but it’s a possibility for the future.
