Why is a token dispute now a question of federal-court jurisdiction?

Justin Sun says his lawyers are seeking sanctions against World Liberty Financial and its lawyers over what he calls a late ownership and citizenship disclosure in their dispute about frozen WLFI tokens. Sun says an amended court filing listed 22 entities in the ownership chain and claimed citizenship in Florida, Delaware, Puerto Rico and the UAE. CoinDesk and The Block report that this could affect whether the case proceeds in federal court; Sun says he plans to refile in California state court after the motion is resolved.

Important distinction: the ownership claims are attributed to Sun, and no court has found that World Liberty intentionally concealed information. Sun says World Liberty’s lawyers told him they learned of the UAE citizenship only after the original filing; CoinDesk said the company could not be reached for comment on the latest allegations. This is a legal-process story, not a change to WLFI’s token mechanics.
