Ethereum's flagship developer conference, Devcon 8, opened in Mumbai on November 3, 2026, with an $ETH issuance debate on the agenda.

The four-day event runs November 3–6 at the Jio World Centre, with Vitalik Buterin and researcher Justin Drake on the opening-ceremony lineup. Sessions span nine tracks, from protocol research and scaling to privacy, security, and developer tooling.

A roundtable at 08:00 UTC on November 4 will examine EIP-8363, a draft "Tapered Issuance Burn" that would burn a growing share of validator rewards as the portion of staked ETH rises. Its authors pulled it from Hegotá consideration on October 1, and the session is a discussion, not a protocol decision. Separately, the Glamsterdam upgrade still has no mainnet date after an October 22 notice postponed its Hoodi testnet activation.
