Wall Street analysts still see S&P 500 2028 earnings near $500 per share despite selloffs in Alphabet and Intel, Ed Yardeni said. Yardeni’s $450 forecast is about 9% below the $493 consensus in his October 24 note, according to BeInCrypto. He maintained a 7,900 year-end target, applying an 18.6 multiple to $425 in 2027 earnings, close to analysts’ $424.56 consensus. The index has gained 11.4% this year while forward earnings rose 31%, and its forward P/E fell 13.5%. Yardeni called bond-market scrutiny of AI borrowers healthy but said it remains unclear when spending will generate earnings; rising borrowing costs could weigh on 2028 estimates.
