Ethereum Classic (ETC): A Supply Shock Could Set the Stage for Its Next Recovery

$ETC is approaching an interesting moment. While ETC has faced recent selling pressure, its long-term supply story is becoming more attractive.

The key catalyst is the fifth programmed reward reduction, activated on September 28, 2026. Miner rewards dropped by 20%, from 2.048 ETC to approximately 1.638 ETC per block. This means fewer new coins entering circulation, strengthening ETC's scarcity narrative.

There is another encouraging signal: $ETC network hashrate reportedly increased around 46% since early September, suggesting stronger mining participation.

What about the chart?

ETC recently traded near $7.10. Buyers need to reclaim $7.25 first, followed by $7.47, to show that bullish momentum is returning. A sustained breakout could open the way toward $8 and higher.

On the downside, $6.84 is an important support area to watch. Losing it would weaken the recovery setup.

My outlook: $ETC has an interesting long-term story combining proof-of-work security and declining issuance. If demand returns and buyers reclaim resistance with strong volume, a recovery could develop.

Scarcity alone doesn't guarantee higher prices, but ETC is worth watching.

Do you think ETC can reclaim $8 before the end of 2026?
