Binance users may soon regain access to withdrawals after the recent security incident.
Binance Co-CEO He Yi has stated that withdrawal services are expected to resume within the next 42 hours. The temporary suspension was introduced to protect remaining assets while the exchange rebuilds its security environment, resets wallet configurations and completes additional security checks.
She also revealed that approximately $6.3 billion in assets were affected, with around $3 billion already frozen through industry cooperation.
Importantly, Binance says withdrawals will reopen only after the security environment is confirmed safe. The exchange also plans to publish an updated Proof of Reserves report in the coming days.
My take: Restoring withdrawals is important, but restoring user confidence through transparency and stronger security will matter even more.
