Everyone is screaming “Never keep your crypto on a CEX!”

But let’s be honest for a second.

💡No solution is perfectly safe. Not even cold wallets.

➖We’ve all seen the Ledger cases.

We’ve seen people lose everything because of:

🔹Seed phrase mismanagement

🔹Phishing transactions that look completely legit

🔹Address poisoning (hackers send you a tiny amount from an address that looks almost identical to one you previously used — you copy the last transaction and send your funds straight to them)

🔹Malware that steals clipboard addresses

🔹Supply-chain attacks and firmware vulnerabilities that get discovered in hardware wallets years later

🔹Simple human error under pressure

⛔Most people who shout “Not your keys, not your coins” have never actually helped a normal person recover from losing their seed phrase, or watched someone sign a malicious transaction because they were tired and in a hurry.

🟢Here’s the real talk:

If you are not extremely disciplined with cybersecurity, if you don’t have a proper system for seed phrase storage (metal backups, no digital photos, no cloud, no “I’ll remember it”), if you don’t verify every single transaction on a separate device, and if you don’t understand how address poisoning and phishing actually work in 2025–2026… then your #crypto is often safer on Binance than on a cold wallet you don’t fully control.

Self-custody is powerful. 💪

Self-custody is also unforgiving. 📛

One mistake and it’s gone forever. 🚷

No support ticket. No recovery. No second chance.🚫

💡That doesn’t mean CEXs are risk free. The recent #Binance incident proved that. But it does mean the “just withdraw everything to cold storage” advice is incomplete and, for a large part of the community, actually more dangerous.

The real goal isn’t maximal ideology.

The real goal is not losing your money.

Stay sharp.

Stay educated.

Stay #SAFU🙏

And keep #BUIDling — but do it with eyes open.
