According to Jin10, NZD/USD rose slightly to the 0.5635–0.5640 range during Thursday’s Asian session before meeting selling pressure, stalling its rebound from a two-week low in the previous session. The pair had touched that low after the Reserve Bank of New Zealand announced its rate decision and was trading around 0.5620 as demand for the U.S. dollar rebounded, keeping the exchange rate under downward pressure.
Dollar bulls appeared hesitant, choosing to wait for more clues about the Federal Reserve’s policy path before placing new bets. Market focus remained on upcoming U.S. economic data, including the preliminary third-quarter GDP estimate and the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, which are expected to play an important role in shaping the dollar’s direction. The fundamental factors remained supportive of dollar bulls, while the policy divergence between the Federal Reserve and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand meant NZD/USD continued to face substantial downward pressure.
