BITMAIN, Canaan, MicroBT and mining pools including Foundry and F2Pool are among 15 participants backing a shared software layer for Bitcoin mining, according to Tether's October 24 announcement.
The commitment is to build and maintain connections to Tether's open-source Mining Development Kit (MDK). A manufacturer or pool supplies its own “Worker” — software that translates its existing controls into a common interface. Applications can then use that interface across different equipment and pools instead of needing a separate connection to each vendor.
For miners running mixed fleets, that could make monitoring and automation easier to extend when they add hardware or change providers. Each company still chooses which functions it exposes; a common interface does not make every machine identical.
This is an integration commitment, not evidence that all 15 connections are already live. Tether targets the first stable 1.0 release by the end of 2026. Working integrations and their actual coverage are the next things to watch; the announcement provides no measured cost savings or basis for a BTC price forecast.
