BNB Chain outlined plans for a second, EVM-compatible Layer 1 that will run alongside BNB Smart Chain rather than replace it. The network will connect to BSC through a native bridge and will not introduce a new token; BNB will serve as the asset for gas, staking and governance. A public testnet is planned for the end of 2026, with mainnet targeted for early 2027. Stated targets include roughly 200 millisecond block times, about 20 millisecond transaction pre-confirmations and sub-second transaction ordering.
