$CAP went from about 0.069 to 0.114 in two days, and I still can't find a reason.
Cap is a DeFi credit protocol built around its cUSD stablecoin. Its latest post on X is from Oct 22, and I found no fresh listing, partnership or token news, so the catalyst is unconfirmed for now.
What I can see is volume and leverage. On Sunday, one 4h candle on the Binance CAPUSDT perp did $57.6M, against roughly $1M per candle before the move. Open interest went from $12.7M to about $29.5M. Part of that is just the higher price, but the number of contracts still rose about 42%. Spot is busy too, with Upbit flagging CAP for soaring volume.
The positioning is the odd part. About 52% of accounts are short, yet funding is positive, 0.047% per 4h after peaking at 0.092%. That usually means fewer accounts hold bigger longs, and Binance's top-trader data shows about 64% long by position size.
Crowded leverage can unwind fast, in either direction.
Levels on my radar, not forecasts: 0.115-0.122, the highest zone since the perp listed in June, and 0.078 to 0.069, where Sunday's leg and the whole two-day run started.
What would make you trust a move like this: a real announcement, or volume that holds up?
Not financial advice, DYOR.
