What caught my attention about @KITE AI is how it treats payment.
When I research markets, I pull data from several sources, and almost every one wants its own account, API key and monthly plan. For a person that's annoying. For an AI agent, it's a wall.
x402 points to another model. The service replies with HTTP 402 and its price, the agent pays with a signed authorization, and the data comes back.
Payment happens inside the request.
It fits an agent that checks a data endpoint a few times a day: a monthly plan means paying for access it barely uses, while per-request means paying only for the calls it makes. It may not fit an agent hitting the same endpoint thousands of times a day, where a flat subscription could be cheaper.
The interesting part isn't "AI can pay." It's that an agent could use a service it never signed up for, with no human in the loop, which makes pricing part of the API's design.
