🛸 CASE FILE #293

THE WORLD'S BIGGEST ECONOMIES ARE DROWNING IN DEBT.

Japan's government debt has reportedly reached 204.4% of GDP, more than DOUBLE its annual economic output.

And Japan isn't alone.

Japan: 204.4%
Italy: 138.4%
United States: 125.8%
France: 118.4%
Canada: 110.7%
China: 106.9%
United Kingdom: 103.6%
Germany: 64.6%

Advanced economies reportedly average 108.2% of GDP.

But here's the real danger.

High debt doesn't automatically trigger a crisis. Rising interest costs make that debt harder to manage, leaving governments with less room to respond to the next economic shock.

If even the world's richest economies are carrying this much debt, who can afford the next crisis?
