Ripple just landed two of its biggest institutional wins of the year. $XRP fell anyway — and that split screen is exactly why this coin matters right now.
In one week, Cross River Bank said it will integrate RLUSD and XRP Ledger settlement into its banking infrastructure, letting businesses move between dollars and $RLUSD through a single API. Days earlier, Ripple partnered with DriveWealth to bring RLUSD settlement to stock trading, starting in Europe. On paper, this is the adoption story XRP holders have waited years for.
The market shrugged. $XRP trades near $1.29, down roughly 7% on the week after getting rejected at $1.40 and dipping to a monthly low near $1.27 on Saturday. The 13-week inflow streak into US spot XRP ETFs just snapped, with a $2.47M net outflow on Friday, 16 October. Cumulative inflows still sit near $1.8B — but the momentum has stalled.
So who's selling? The on-chain picture is weirder than "whales dumping." Whale inflows to Binance hit 1.669B XRP over 30 days, a seven-month high. But whale outflows hit 1.38B over the same stretch — also a seven-month high. That's churn, not a one-way exit. Big Ripple transfers flagged by trackers turned out to be internal moves, not exchange sales. Meanwhile, 74.3% of Binance XRPUSDT accounts sit long, even as social sentiment stays net-bearish. That's a crowded trade sitting on a thin floor.
Here's the setup that decides everything. The line in the sand is $1.27–$1.30. Hold it, and a reclaim of $1.40–$1.42 puts the recovery back in play, with $1.50 as the gate analysts keep naming. Lose it on a daily close, and $1.25 is next, with $1.20 below that. Analyst Ali Martinez is watching $1.25 as the level where a rebound could start; others warn a breakdown there opens the path toward the $1.00–$1.10 summer range.
History says headlines alone don't save $XRP. After the July 2023 court ruling, it spiked over 70% in a day — then faded for more than a year. But when regulatory clarity met real momentum in November 2024, it broke years of resistance and held a far higher range. The difference was never the headline. It was follow-through.
The risks are real and close: a 1B XRP escrow unlock on 1 November, ETF flows that just went quiet, and a Fed meeting on 27–28 October with rate-hike odds suddenly back on the table after hot CPI. $BTC dragging the market lower would make every XRP level harder to hold.
So which XRP shows up this week — the one institutions keep building on, or the one traders keep selling? Check $XRP's chart — is $1.30 holding or folding?
