🚨 INJ HAS A GOVERNANCE VOTE THAT COULD CHANGE TRANSACTION FEES
Injective has a new proposal on the table: IIP-709, which aims to make fees more predictable for core exchange transactions.
The proposal would introduce fixed gas fees for certain exchange messages on Injective mainnet. It has already been available on testnet, but it is not yet confirmed as activated on mainnet. The governance vote is scheduled to close on October 17, 2026.
Why does this matter? More predictable transaction costs could make it easier for developers and users to understand what they pay when interacting with Injective’s exchange infrastructure.
There’s also a bigger ecosystem development: Thailand’s Gulf Labs became an Injective validator on October 8, expanding the network’s institutional participation.
The next thing to watch: the governance result and whether fixed fees reach mainnet.
