South Korea is planning tighter cybersecurity requirements after an industry-wide review found deficiencies at 130 of 555 financial companies. According to NS3.AI, the Financial Services Commission said about 100,000 pieces of customer information had been exposed across affected firms. The proposed reforms would require larger financial institutions to undergo vulnerability assessments at least twice every year. The regulator is still investigating whether the incidents involved artificial intelligence or were linked to the same attackers.
