According to CNBC, SK Hynix fell more than 8% on Thursday as a global sell-off in technology hardware stocks deepened, with Asian chipmakers tracking Wall Street losses on concerns that further Federal Reserve rate hikes and the cost of financing artificial intelligence investments could weigh on sentiment. Samsung Electronics dropped 7.1%, while other South Korean chip-related stocks also weakened, including LG Innotek, down 8.1%, Seoul Semiconductor, down 7.7%, and Samsung SDI, down 6.8%. In Japan, SoftBank Group fell 7.9%, Advantest lost 6.9%, Tokyo Electron declined 5.4%, and Renesas Electronics also dropped 5.4%. The declines followed a weak Wall Street session on Wednesday after hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation data stoked expectations that the Federal Reserve could raise rates further. The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.88% to 26,692.87, the S&P 500 lost 1.11% to 7,718.94, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.09%.
