Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has laid off most of the members of a 34-person team that helped portfolio companies recruit talent, according to Axios. According to ChainCatcher, the company spokesperson declined to comment.
Axios said the recruiting service was one of the main support offerings a16z promoted to tech founders. Remaining members of the firm’s full stack talent team will be reassigned to dedicated investment groups, such as growth investing or crypto investing, with each group expected to build its own team to meet hiring needs instead of relying on a centralized unit. All team members were still listed on the company’s website at the time of reporting.
