Borrowing capacity and borrowed money are two different things. A JustLend user may have collateral that supports additional borrowing, but available capacity does not automatically mean that the user has taken out a loan.

Interest generally begins accruing on the amount actually borrowed, according to the applicable market rules. If a user leaves the available borrowing capacity untouched, there is no drawn principal on that unused portion generating ordinary borrow interest.

This distinction gives users flexibility. Someone may want the option to borrow later without taking on debt today. Meanwhile, eligible collateral supplied to a lending market may continue earning supply interest, subject to the asset, market configuration, and prevailing rate.

The important point is that capacity is not the same as utilization. A credit line can represent potential access to capital without becoming an active liability.

Of course, unused capacity is not a promise that funds will always be available. Borrow limits can change with collateral values, market conditions, protocol parameters, and account health. The amount that can actually be borrowed must be checked when the transaction is made.

That is why monitoring collateral and health factors remains essential, even when no borrowing has occurred.

Unused room is optional capacity, not a running loan. Borrow when the need arises, understand the conditions, and recognize that the interest calculation follows the debt actually created.
