Cisco is partnering with Nvidia on a new generation of optical networking technology aimed at handling the surge of data moving through AI data centers, according to Bloomberg.

Cisco President and Chief Product Officer Jeetu Patel said increasingly powerful AI agents could use far more network bandwidth than humans doing the same tasks, and said faster, more power-efficient connections could help hundreds of thousands of GPUs operate together while lowering the cost of AI.
