🚨 🔐 LEDGER SHOCKER: UNAUTHORIZED HARDWARE IMPLANT CONFIRMED! 🔐

A wallet can look untouched,
Yet danger may be hiding beneath its shell.

Ledger has confirmed that at least one customer device involved in a crypto-theft investigation contained an unauthorized hardware implant. The case is linked to devices sold through CryptoBilis, a reseller operating in Southeast Asia.

The scale is alarming. Blockchain investigator Specter estimated that losses could exceed $86 million across Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tron (TRX). This remains an external estimate, not a confirmed total from Ledger.

Ledger says the confirmed cases are linked to the reseller, while its internal systems and direct sales channels remain unaffected. The investigation is ongoing, and the full scope and origin of the tampering have not been established.

My Take: The deeper issue is trust in the physical supply chain. Hardware wallets are designed to protect private keys, but buying a genuine brand does not automatically guarantee that every device has remained untouched during distribution.

Ledger has advised customers who purchased through CryptoBilis within the last 90 days not to initialize an unconfigured device. Users who already set up an affected device should consider moving assets to a new signer with a newly generated recovery phrase, following official guidance. Never share your existing recovery phrase with anyone.

Remember: Crypto security begins long before a transaction reaches the blockchain.

Would you trust a hardware wallet bought through an unauthorized or unverified reseller?
