#ArgentinaCentralBankWillNotPushCryptoIntoBankingForTwoYears
Argentina’s crypto story highlights a question the market often overlooks: can digital assets grow when traditional banks are restricted from offering them?

In May 2022, Argentina’s central bank barred regulated financial institutions from offering or facilitating certain cryptoasset transactions. In May 2023, similar restrictions were extended to payment providers offering payment accounts.

The reasoning was risk management, including concerns about consumer protection and financial stability. But there’s another side to consider.

In a country facing currency uncertainty, Bitcoin and dollar-linked stablecoins can attract people looking for alternative ways to manage their money. Still, these assets carry risks, from price volatility to custody issues and scams.

What interests me is the gap between demand for crypto and access through regulated financial services. Restrictions on banks don’t mean crypto use disappears, but they can shape where and how people access it.

I believe the real challenge is finding a balance between protecting users and allowing responsible innovation.

Could clearer regulation eventually connect traditional banking with crypto, without exposing customers to unnecessary risks?$STRK $CKB
