#SolanaPlansToCutBlockTimesTo200ms
One body cannot have 500 faces. Crypto was made to give us ease, not disease.
First, the real news. Solana’s 200ms upgrade went live on mainnet on Oct 9 at epoch 1053, and Anza confirmed it. Blocks now come 5 times a second instead of 2.5. That is real, and it is good for fast apps.
Now the fine print. Each block holds less (30 million compute units, down from 37.5 million), so total capacity is about the same. It is faster, not bigger. Validators must vote more often, which costs them more. Nobody has measured the real slot time at 200ms yet.
Then my question: why does this feed look so unnatural?
Many posts about Solana’s block time carry tags for coins that have nothing to do with Solana. $RLC +22%. $STRK +25%. $KAIA +56%. $MAGIC +83%. Those numbers are from the feed, and I could not verify them. Same story, same sentences, many accounts. Some posts say “plans,” some say “completed,” on the same day. One says SOL is up 4.31%, while the ticker says +0.39%, and CoinDesk says about -3.5%.
Can I prove anyone is paying for this? No. Can I say it doesn’t look organic? Yes.
How I check if a post is organic:
Does the coin in the tag belong to the story? Can I find the claim at the source (Anza, the official page)? Does the author show a number I can check, or just “huge”? Who gains if I click and buy?
What I CAN do: read the source, trade small, ignore tags that don’t fit the story.
What I CANNOT do: prove manipulation, tell who is real, or say if SOL goes up or down.
Real news can be quiet. Noise is loud.
Do you think a real upgrade needs 50 copies of the same post? Tell me below.
