$STRK

Down nearly 98% from its all-time high. Now Starknet is suddenly back in the spotlight.

STRK is trading around $0.0732, with a market cap of $541M and 24-hour volume above $411M.

The token has gained roughly 138% over the past 90 days, according to the chart.

So what is driving this comeback?

Two developments stand out.

First, Starknet is working to attract Bitcoin liquidity through strkBTC, a Bitcoin-backed asset that can be used across its DeFi ecosystem. The project announced bridge-fee coverage for the first 100 BTC transferred through this initiative.

Second, Starknet is considering a much bigger architectural change: potentially moving beyond its role as an Ethereum Layer 2 and becoming a standalone Layer 1, with a focus on quantum resistance by 2027.

That second narrative could be especially important. It gives the market a new story to price in beyond the usual L2 scaling competition.

But there is a difference between a proposal and a delivered product.

STRK's rally is also accompanied by heavy trading activity, which can amplify moves in both directions.

Could a token down nearly 99% from its peak offer asymmetric upside?

Possibly. A much lower valuation creates room for a recovery if adoption, utility and token demand improve.

But the drawdown alone does not make STRK undervalued. Token unlocks, supply pressure and execution risks still matter.

For me, the real question is whether Starknet can turn its Bitcoin DeFi and quantum-resistant infrastructure ambitions into sustained demand.

The narrative is getting stronger. Now the execution needs to follow.
